Maybe May showers will bring beautiful flowers too!

Everyone sure does like working at Muriel's site...

The flower gardens and dirt driveways looked great before the rain started... and so did the volunteers!

The heavy rains hit the Istruma neighborhood right as lunch was being delivered. Luckily for volunteers, the Reid's delivered lunch right to the front door.

Other volunteers took refuge under the I110 bridge.

I hope this helps all of you remember what I look like... so you can recognize me next time we build together!

Despite all of the pictures of Joe sitting around and eating lunch, he and the other volunteer "staff" have been absolutely fabulous during this build. Without their help, very little could have been accomplished on the build sites. They have been a wonderful help, and we hope their wives let them come back to help again!
Most volunteers headed back to the dormitory to dry out shortly after lunch. But a few hearty, yet wet, souls decided to finish painting a few houses before their headed home to shower.

I hope everyone got to meet Stephanie during their visit to Baton Rouge. Stephanie is one of our affiliate's Construction AmeriCorps members. Steph scheduled all the local contractors for this build; and spent much of her time during the build checking up on the contractor's progress and encouraging them all to stay on our tight Blitz Schedule. Stephanie's AmeriCorps term will be up shortly, and she will be heading back to LSU to finish her degree. Steph is a cheerful and positive presence and a major factor in this build's success.

Thank you 'Reno!
